Carotid Artery Ultrasound and Color Doppler Images with Patient Health Records for Cardiovascular and Endocrine Research

This dataset comprises ultrasound (US) and color doppler (CD) images of carotid arteries from 18 patients, collected from a medical institution identified with the code "APB." It includes images of the left carotid (LC), right carotid (RC), and external carotid (EC) arteries, and is structured for use in various medical image analysis tasks.

Dataset Highlights:

• Image Data: Each image is labeled with a structured naming convention, where:

  • APB- Hospital code.
  • 001 to 018 - Patient identification numbers.
  • UL - Ultrasound images.
  • CD - Color Doppler images.
  • LC - Left carotid artery.
  • RC - Right carotid artery.
  • EC - External carotid artery.
  • Image number - Sequence of images for the corresponding artery.

  For example, APB003ULLC03 refers to the 3rd ultrasound image of the left carotid artery of patient 3.

Patient Health Data:
Alongside the images, a CSV file is included, containing comprehensive health records for each patient. The recorded details include:

• Heart disease status
• Diabetes status
• Thyroid condition
• Cancer history
• Surgery history
• Presence of carotid plaque
• Age, height, weight, and gender

This additional health data allows for correlation studies between carotid artery imaging and underlying health conditions, making the dataset valuable for research in cardiovascular, endocrine, and metabolic disorders, as well as for developing machine learning models for diagnostic applications.
