Please cite the paper entitled "Development and validation of warning system of ventricular tachyarrhythmia in patients with heart failure with heart rate variability data" by Wan-Tai M Au-yeung, Per G Reinhall, Gust H Bardy and Steven L Brunton in PLOS ONE if you use this dataset.
Three are five .mat files in the repository.
1) RRData.mat
Description: RRData.mat is a 2048 X 11764 matrix. Each column contains a R-R interval recording and there are a total of 11764 recordings. Each record have 2048 or less R-R intervals. If a record has less than 2048 beats, then the beginning of the corresponding column would have values NaNs. The values are in milliseconds.
2) MetaDataLabels.mat
Description: MetaDataLabels.mat is a 4X1 cell matrix that describe what information is contained in each row of the MetaData.mat file.
3) MetaData.mat
Description: MetaData.mat is a 4X11764 cell matrix that contains information about the R-R interval recordings that were arranged in the same order in the RRData.mat matrix. These records were sorted by patients and then by the times they were obtained.
For the entries in the 1st row, it shows the database patient ID of the subjects enrolled in the ICD arm of SCD-HeFT.
For the entries in the 2nd row, '1__I' indicates that the records were obtained during the insertion of the ICDs. '1__W' indicates one-week check up. 'M' in 'XX_M' means month. 'XX' is the number of months after the insertion of the ICDs. 'U_X' means unscheduled visits to the clinics.
For the entries in the 3rd row, "NA" means regular rhythms, "VF" means ventricular fibrillation and "VT" means ventricular tachycardia.
For the entries in the 4th row, '1' means appropriate shock and '0' means inappropriate shock.
4) download_index.mat
Description: download_index.mat has indexes of records of regular rhythms in the RRData and MetaData that satisfy the inclusion criteria outlined in the paper.
5) event_index.mat
Description: event_index.mat has indexes of pre-appropriate-shock rhythms in the RRData and MetaData that satisfy the inclusion criteria outlined in the paper.
