Summary In this study, we further elucidate the mechanism of action of one of the most effective antitumor PUFAs, ω-3 docosahexaenoic acid, on MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells, including those with IGFBP6 knockdown. Additionally, we analyzed the effect of reduced IGFBP6 gene expression on the mechanism of ferroptosis in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells under the influence of the canonical ferroptosis inducer erastin.
 
Overall design Total RNA profiles of control MDA-MB-231 cells (sh-LUC) and MDA-MB-231cells with knockdown of IGFBP6 gene (sh-IGFBP6) treated with erastin and omega-3 docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA).
